Sun Country Cycle Indoor Training (co-ed)

10th season of offering Indoor Cycling in Vernon!

This series of structured workouts will include: warm up; drills to improve technique, posture and coordination; and main sets that target

strength, power, or specific physiological systems to maintain or even improve bike fitness over the winter months. All levels of cyclists are welcome, sessions increase in difficulty throughout the season and individual modifications can be provided to decrease the intensity where

needed.

Required:

Road bike, indoor trainer, towel, water bottle, bike shoes.

 

Athletes under the age of 19 should visit Tri Monster information.

Mondays, Oct 21-Dec 16 (no session Nov 11)

Mondays, Jan 6 – Mar 9 (no session Feb 17).

Sun Country Spring Ladies Rides

A social road ride for new cyclists, and those looking for a safe and supportive group environment.   More experienced cyclists are invited to come and enjoy a recovery ride, meet new ride friends, and support those just starting out.

 

Rides are approx. 45-60 min in April/May, and 60-75 min in May/June. Average pace is 20-22 kph.

Required:

Road bike (curly bars and smooth tires) & helmet required.  Tri bikes ok but stay off the aerobars in the group please.   Rear light, gloves, glasses, road shoes & pedals encouraged but not mandatory. This is a social paced ride for beginning cyclists.

Open Water Clinics

For beginning and intermediate swimmers, these clinics will introduce open water swimming skills and strategies. Before your next triathlon or open water swim event, practice sighting, drafting, turning buoys, starts and exits.

Prerequisite: 

Swimmers should be able to complete 500m continuous swimming in the pool in under 15 min prior to joining in this open water group.

 

Required:

Brightly coloured swim cap, goggles (tinted lens recommended), wetsuit strongly recommended, towel.
